Transport and Parking 

Shuttles will be provided between the above hotels and the Drake campus, where the conference will be held. Parking on campus cannot be guaranteed due to multiple campus events; as such, anyone staying at the hotels recommended for the conference should plan to utilize the bus transportation provided. Home2 Suites is within walking distance of the conference. Please email ARC2023@drake.edu with any questions.

Explore Des Moines 

Des Moines, the capital city of Iowa, offers a variety of activities for conference attendees. One must-see attraction is the Iowa State Capitol, a beautiful building with a gold-leaf dome and intricate architectural details. The Des Moines Art Center is another cultural highlight, featuring works by famous artists such as Salvador Dali and Grant Wood. For outdoor enthusiasts, Gray’s Lake Park offers biking and walking trails, paddle boats, and a playground. The Pappajohn Sculpture Park is a beautiful outdoor display of contemporary sculptures. If you’re looking for shopping, entertainment, and dining, East Village and the Western Gateway Park are great options. Finally, for a taste of local history, the Des Moines Heritage Trail is a great way to learn about the city’s rich past.
